Capricorns seek money, wealth, status and power. There is no better sign describing his motivations. If it is a finer thing in life, if it is something to be desired, Greed wants it. He has stated repeatedly that he wants the world, and gaining control of 'God' appears to be his motivation up until moments before his eventual demise. 'Status-seeking' describes him too well. Greed is also highly 'determined', his ambitions powering his actions so fiercely that he repeatedly deflects from the ones who cannot help him fulfill them. He is 'persistent', and will keep coming at his opponent in a fight, unless he decides that the effort will be pointless.

According to here, a child born on December 29th 'has the ability to be transformed by spiritual significance, but only after experiencing a profound and transfiguring reality.' This could describe the transformation he undergone after killing Bido - a friend of the previous Greed - and being haunted by memories of the last Greed's time with his friends. After that incident, he started to feel the emptiness of having no meaningful connections with others, and gradually became less and less callous. He is most definitely a 'risk-taker', from the way he takes in people he barely knows as subordinates, and the way he attempts to bring down entities much stronger than him for his ambitions. Greed is also the 'black sheep' of his twisted little family; the one whose betrayals are repeated offenses and so inevitable given his greedy nature.

Suitability:
While it's true that he resides in the body of a 15-year old, Greed is the last thing you would call a teenager. His personality was implanted into him, and this personality -- barring most of its memories -- is identical to that of his previous incarnation, who could easily be two centuries old. He, essentially, is the previous Greed; just with no memories of his time then. He even sees Ling, his body's owner, through the eyes of someone older, calling him 'kid'. Greed's mental age cannot be pinpointed exactly, but he acts like someone in their mid-twenties, having none of that naivety and rashness that youth comes with.

Greed could very, very easily adapt to a situation where sex is required of him. He has outwardly proclaimed a love for women and a desire to 'have' them, complimenting them on their looks if there's something to be impressed about. The previous Greed has also been seen lounging in a bar with hostesses hanging off him. It's reasonable to assume that sex is something he enjoys and will pursue. Greed is also highly adaptable; very able to mobilize on his own if his ambitions call for it. He is a strong fighter, and will take no lesser than the position of a leader. He survives as an outcast after deflecting from Father's side, and had no problems gaining shelter and other necessities.

Power: Greed has the power of 'Ultimate Shield', which is essentially the ability to change his body into varying allotropes of carbon. On the high end of this spectrum, he has the ability to change his skin into graphene, enabling him a shield of hardness that blades and bullets cannot penetrate. On the low end of the spectrum, he can also change his body into graphite, making it extremely brittle to the touch. At his full power, he has the ability to coat his entire body in this 'shield'. I will be depowering him to the point where he can only coat one of his forearms, for now.

[ The feed opens, and the man you see is young: asian features, sleek, black lines of a coat, piercing red eyes, and two very visible, overlapping tattoos on the back of his left hand. One, the residents here may easily recognise (he is a Capricorn), but the other is something new. The symbol of cyclicality and recreation: The Ouroboros. He makes little move to hide it.

There's a smirk; crooked, and a little too smug. ]

You all sure know how to complain, huh? I don't know, sex land sounds like my kinda place. [ He gives a shrug, and it's clear how little this experience has affected him so far. Interdimensional travel was new, but that just means another world to take for his own, right? And none of his annoying 'family' to get in his way, either.

(Has it always been so quiet, however? Perhaps he was getting too accustomed to having someone whine at him from within his headspace.)

greed being greedy :| his biggest ambitions and things he desires. the way he likes others who are decisive and know what they want. his own outlook on what greed is (greed isnt human, and appears more self-aware because of that). he seems to like other greedy people.

his disposition. haughty, arrogant, vulgar when situation calls, laid-back most of the time, disrespectful ("toots", "daddio"), seems annoyed when people peg him for what he's not (I'm GREED), not a sadistic guy, apologises if he has nothing against who he's hurting, catchphrases and characteristic laugh

his values. don't hurt women. don't lie. doesn't even hide his homunculous tattoo. a straightforward guy.

his relationship with ling and how ling pushed him to realise friendship and stuff. they get along and are partners. were fighting for control before but eventually seem to exist in harmony. he even carries out ling's requests.

his emptiness and desire to have friends like humans. the homunculous family sucks :|. the previous greed cared for his friends - this one appears to too (hiding in risembool to tune up ed's automail). later on, he cares enough to order injured and weak ones to stay out of a fight, and eventually tricked ling to save his life. sacrificed himself to help bring down Father. finally realised that friends were what he wanted all along before dying. also avenged the chimeras killed by bradly (I want your life, Wrath)

Greed is ...greedy. Does that surprise you? He wants money, he wants power, he wants women, he wants glory, he wants status, he wants minions - he wants the whole world, and then some. (All of these are his own words.) He can be accurately described as a manifestation of Father's own avarice, siphoned off his being and given a body and consciousness of his own. Within him lies an unyielding, unquenchable thirst, and any satisfaction he manages to achieve from reaching his goals appear to be transient, because it's not long before he starts to crave for the next big thing on his list. In fact, there is only one instance he appears to actually be satisfied with what he has, and true to the idea of 'Greed', it happened right before he finally died. Imagine that: Living your life buried in many deep, hopeless cravings, no inner peace to be had; that is what he goes through, and he's very fine with constantly chasing that latest ambition.

If it wasn't obvious enough from his special abilities, or the way his entire personality is built around his sin element, Greed is not human. Because he is not human, he does not do what a lot of humans tend to do when they sin; he does not make excuses for himself, or pretty up his motives and actions. Greed almost takes an outsider's point of view when discussing the idea of greed, too self-aware of his own avarice and very happily embracing it. He has stated that he puts all desires on the same level, and cannot understand why some desires ('love', 'companionship' and 'acceptance') are put on the pedestal over others. Greed also has a tendency to feel a kinship with the greedy, taking a small liking to Ling immediately when he saw Ling's resolve to become the Emperor of his country. He likes people who know what they want, and stick to what they want - he may even help them along, if it doesn't trouble him too much.

Greed is positively incapable of working under other people. History repeats itself and proves this over and over, with how the second Greed deflected from Father's side just like the first incarnation before him. He seems to have a limited tolerance for working as a subordinate, and it's always just a matter of time before his desires outweigh the cause employing him. This eventually became an outright refusal to work under another person, and he's almost a little petty about it. When Ed asked to join forces with him so they could work toward a mutual goal, he laughed in his face, rejecting the very idea of not being the one to call the shots. When Ed changed his tune and offered to work for him, however, this brought Greed a great deal of amusement and he, in good spirits, accepted, even if the outcome was exactly the same.

On a regular day, Greed can almost pass off as a regular guy. He doesn't share the sadistic tendencies of Envy, the complete and utter ruthlessness of Pride, or the simplistic outlooks of Gluttony and Sloth. Rather, Greed is quite level-headed. He's a guy who talks very casually, whether to friends or captives, and is willing to put negotiations before brawling. He also seems to have a sense of humor, taking a liking to people who make things interesting for him. Not one to mince words, he isn't exactly someone you would call respectful. If he thinks someone repulsive, he will say so without second thought -- as Envy has experienced first-hand. If something manages to piss him off, it's also nothing new at all to see his language take a turn for the vibrantly colourful. Yeah, though rude, it's true that he can pass as a regular guy. That ...would be until he cracks a crooked, toothy grin, however, and does his laugh - a low, rumbling, maniacal thing; following up soon after with his very characteristic speech -- an enthusiastic proclamation of everything he's ever wanted from the world; all the finer things he fully intends to take for himself. He looks a little crazy when he gets that way.

Despite having no ingrained system of morality, there are a few values that Greed abides by. Firstly, he does not lie. This is something he swears by himself. He appears to have a disdain for petty tricks and schemes, much preferring to take a straightforward approach with getting what he wants. He also forms relationships with his subordinates based on mutual trust rather than deception and manipulation. In the span of the series, he has only told one lie so far - his first and last - and it was told to save Ling's life. Secondly, Greed does not hit women. This is more a personal preference for him, than some tradition or belief that women are weaker. He likes them, so he does not like the idea of hurting them. Another thing, while not exactly a value, is Greed's belief that all things are possible. 'No such thing as no such thing' appears to be a catchphrase of his, and the first Greed chased the smallest and most impossible leads if it meant a chance to fulfill his goals. The second Greed will pursue things against odds as well. It makes sense to keep an open mind, when you think about, because for the one who chooses to believe, the things in the world for the taking become endless.

For most of the series, Greed fashioned himself as a loner, convinced that Ling, the subordinates he had amassed, and the people working around him were all simply other possessions of his. This was the only explanation he could discern for the way he reacts when they come to harm, and how it almost felt like he cared. Born with an unquenchable craving, this need becomes an emptiness after he kills Bido and is struck with a grief he did not understand. The shock forced him to retain the old Greed's memories of having friends - people to depend on, people who depend on him - and up until his very last moment, he could not understand what was missing. The fact was, all along - just like Pride and Envy - he has wanted companionship. Father and the other homunculous are family in name alone; they treat each other with callousness, and do not hesitate in taking each other down. Humans, however, are very different, and the more Greed mingled with them, the more he subconsciously adopted their practices, eventually even coming to the stage of giving himself up for the sake of his friends. Selflessness is the antithesis of greed, and yet, he defied his nature anyway.

A lot of Greed's change is owed to the presence of Ling. While you would expect two separate personalities in the same body to detest each other - and they did fight for control during those first few months - the two of them manage to exist in harmony. Ling understood Greed's nature - the true root of his many desires - from the very start, and from the inside of Greed's headspace, he worked to push the other in the right direction. What was first a fascination with this greedy, Xingese prince became a partnership, and eventually - against Greed's knowledge - a friendship. The very first this Greed has, arguably. Along the way, he has made other friends as well. One in the Full-Metal Alchemist, and two in a pair of chimeras. The acknowledgement that they were friends at all came very much later, but Greed has certainly shown that he cares.

The first thing that calls his attention is that it's quiet. Quiet around him, the room completely empty; quiet above him, with only a distant sound of birds in the sky beyond that intricate ceiling design, and quiet within him -- too noticeably so. Huh. Someone was missing.

Greed is a Homunculous, a being made from the compressed essense of a few hundred living human souls. He is very used to hearing them: the groans and moans of souls who no longer had a body to return to, no longer remembered anything about living beside the despair they were trapped in. So used, in fact, that he filters it all out. Simple background noise. These circumstances were present from birth, so why should it be anything of concern? Despite the fact that he continued to hear them, it was quiet, because there was one particular soul - the original owner of the body he resides in - whose presence has been nagging at him for the past few months, and the lack of that one soul - that arrogant kid who talked like he knew everything - was now too apparent to him. Ling. Now, just where did that guy run off to?

The stone bed below him is hard (Some comfort can't be that much to ask.), and Greed sits up, a hand scratching at the back of his neck. Before he even starts on just what happened to Ling, he should really figure out what he's doing here in the first place. Moments ago, there was no such fancy decor or clean, polished walls. Quite the opposite. He was face to face with what he would readily call an abomination from hell; all sharp teeth, dozen eyes, and creeping, tentacled shadows. Who else but Brother-dearest, right? He is almost a little grateful to be away from all that, but a part of him can't help but wonder just how the others will hold up on their own. They were his subordinates, and it's not his way to leave them in the lurch.

A sharp pain pulls him out of contemplation, and when he withdraws his hand in response, what he sees manages a confused little blink. Glowing bright red is a spot on the back, and when the glowing subsides, another tattoo takes form, settling nicely right under his Ouroboros. Black, and he can tell it's one of the Zodiac signs, but he can't say he's ever cared about things like that enough to know anything more.

What a position to choose. My hand's crowded enough already, you bastards.

There's a little snort, half-amused at it all, and half-peeved that they had the gall to brand him in such a manner. There was too much to consider right now for that to be an issue, however, and he hops off the bed to take hold of the letter he can see presented to him. If they had a demand to give, he will gladly hear it out, but whether a peaceful transaction was to follow would be dependent.

Within a few minutes of reading the letter, he bursts out into a fit of rumbling laughter, his face splitting into a wild, toothy grin. He knows they can hear him, so he makes his proclamation.

"Very well, I accept! But you know that dumping me here means surrendering this world to me, right?! I am Greed, the avaricious, and I want everything! It's too late to regret it, now!"

He tosses the letter aside, and it reads 'For your Ambition, you have been chosen from among all the times and galaxies to aid us.'.
