[Name]: Perona
[Canon]: One Piece
[Age]: Unknown. Assumed to be in her late-teens.
[Gender]: Female
[Canon Point]: During the two year period she was at Kurigana Island with Mihawk and Zoro, and after Mihawk takes Zoro on as a student.

[History]:
001.

[Personality]:
Perona is a girl most people would describe as a 'bratty, annoying prick'. She gives herself the title 'Ghost Princess', and it's true that she can be a bit of a primadonna. Despite her slight, girlish appearance, there is nothing elegant about the way she carries herself.

She is bossy, frequently berating her subordinates for not doing things the way she likes. The main victim of this is Kumacy, a bear-like zombie underling of hers, and she frequently scolds him for the littlest things - the main offense being speaking aloud when his voice did not sound 'cute' in her opinion. She can even be unreasonable in her scoldings, once berating Kumacy for using his voice, then berating him again for not alerting her of the presence of Strawhat crew members (when he had certainly tried).

She is brash and temperamental - to the point of rudeness, most of the time. Perona has a very blunt way of speech, and if she finds something displeasing, she won't hesitate to hurl insults or give a loud 'Shut up!'. There are countless times she's scolded Zoro for his complete uselessness at navigating, and shut down Absalom for daring to criticize the way she treats her underlings. She also seems to dislike when people intrude on her turf, getting angry at Absalom for entering her room without permission. Even Shichibukai, who have reason to be feared, are not excused from this treatment. When Mihawk intructed Perona to tend to Zoro's wounds, she got angry at him for casually ordering her around.

She is - or used to be - a little on the spoiled side. What Perona wanted more than anything is to be waited on hand and foot - to have servants serving her breakfast in bed, drawing a warm bath for her, and tending to her every whim. While she isn't an actual Princess with hired servants, what she had when she was under Gecko Moria were eternally obedient zombies, so she had been living like one for a good eight years or more. In fact, her first reaction to being sent to Kuraigana Island - a desolate place completely in ruins - was to throw a huge tantrum over the fact that she had lost all her past privileges, and that there was no one to wait on her anymore. Thankfully, this aspect of hers has improved as she stays with Zoro and Mihawk - two men far too willful to be ordered around by a young girl. For her to survive in that filthy and lacking place for two years, it would certainly mean she's learned to adapt and do things on her own.

The first thing you might notice about Perona is the multitude of 'cute things' she surrounds herself with. She has a passionate love for anything cute, and her definition of 'cute' can be questionable at times. Her love for cute things goes so far that she will reject any servants if they are not cute in her eyes. This love is the main thing motivating her to work for Moria in the first place. Perona had a dream - a dream to one day rule over a country of adorable zombies as their princess - and it is one only Moria can grant for her. The fact that the reason she worked under him is something so shallow makes her quite a selfish person, because she had helped him bring a great suffering to countless people over the years for the sake of it.

Besides her love for cute things, Perona has a love for the macabre. This seems to be a common denominator for all of Moria's subordinates, as Absalom's dream was to become the King of Graveyards. She is almost always seen wearing 'gothic lolita' style clothing, and when Kuma had asked where she would like to go on a trip, she replied blissfully that she would like to go to a dark, damp place 'swimming with malice', and that she would like to pass the time 'singing cursed songs'. A love for the macabre would mean a love for scaring people, and Perona certainly has that. In her fight with Usopp, she enjoyed scaring him with her ghost abilities, reaching into his body to grab his heart and threatening to crush it when she could not actually do so, and phasing most of her body into the floor so only her 'severed' head remained.

For the majority of her time in Thriller Bark, Perona was extremely cocky. Even when the Strawhats discovered the true weakness of zombies, she did not flinch at all, simply stating that with her ability, she could capture them easily. Her cockiness stems from an overconfidence in her Horo-Horo Fruit ability - the ability to crush the spirit of anyone around her - that is unbeatable to most people. Even Luffy, Zoro and Sanji - the ones dubbed 'Monster Trio' by their crew for their insane strength - stood no chance against her, because all she had to do was throw them into a spiral of negativity that rendered them unable to fight. Her overconfidence in her ability has prompted her to challenge people far out of her league. Kuma is a fine example of this. Despite the fact that she knew he was a shichibukai of unparalleled strength, she firmly believed that she could crush his will with a negative hollow and attacked anyway. This was how she ended up exiled in Kuraigana Island.

Perhaps she may rely too much on this ability, because when there's that rare occasion that it's actually ineffective on someone, everything goes crashing down for her. When she found out that Negative Hollows were ineffective on Usopp, her first reaction was to ... run. In relying on her powers so often, Perona never actually took the time to train her physical body, so she knew she did not stand a chance fighting with her own flesh. Plus, she is a person who disdains the feeling of pain and exhaustion, preferring to hide her physical body and fight in her ghost form rather than risk injuring it.

Self-preservation is always Perona's number-one priority. Whenever she steps into a fight, she needs the insurance that she can win - or not be killed in the process, at least - and this insurance would usually be her 'hollowing' ability. When faced with an impossible situation - such as when Oars was rampaging through Thriller Bark and crushing his comrades indiscriminately - Perona does not even attempt to engage, choosing to flee instead. Self-preservation comes way before the lives of her friends, because she did not stop once to ponder if everyone was safe before leaving, and even chose to deplete Moria's treasury for the sake of supporting herself. The extent of her loyalty to Gecko Moria does not seem to reach far. It was a fickle thing to begin with, Perona herself stating that she had only joined up with Moria 'to have fun', and it was a fickle thing until the end, with how she abandoned Thriller Bark the moment things got dangerous, then longed to be under Moria's care again the moment she found herself worse off.

Despite her many, many flaws, Perona is not a completely terrible person. She does have the capability of being kind and helpful - albeit all of this, though, she'll show reluctantly and with a lot of complaint. The first thing he did after seeing Zoro arrive in Kuraigana Island - after mocking him, of course - was dress his wounds, and lay him on a bed to rest. That was the first time she was shown doing things for another, rather than self-servingly. It did not stop there at all. Gradually, there was a kind of begrudging friendship building up between Zoro and Perona. They did not get along at first, but despite being enemies before, they became able to cohabit for two long years. On her own accord, Perona helped him more than she's been seen helping anyone in Thriller Bark, directing him when he was lost, dressing his wounds when he was beaten by Mihawk, and - perhaps the most surprising of all considering her previously 'primadonna' demeanor - holding up the newspaper for him to read when he could not move. She also went out of her way to escort him to Sabaody Archipelago, and took down a few marines to aid in his departure. This shift in character might be an indication of a kind of maturity building up in Perona, or perhaps her true nature when not surrounded by servants spoiling her.

[Abilities]:
→ STRENGTHS: (horo-horo fruit) Perona is able to summon ghosts - or 'hollows' - from her body that have several uses.

Firstly, as these hollows are all a part of her, she is able to speak through them and experience what they are seeing or hearing. This makes these hollows excellent for espionage, as they can phase in and out of walls and convey the information they gather back to her.

Secondly, her Negative Hollows have a special ability that 'hollow out' the people they phase through. Anyone who comes into contact with a Negative Hollow will be crushed by negativity, losing their will to fight and collapsing to the floor in a rather comical and temporary depression. The only people resistant to the effects of a Negative Hollow are the people who were already pessimistic enough to begin with. The only one who's ever resisted this ability of hers is Usopp, and as such, Perona calls him her 'natural enemy'.

Thirdly, her Mini Hollows and Toku Hollows are special ghosts that can explode with the snap of her fingers. How they manage this is uncertain, but one Mini Hollow can blow a large hole in a wall, and she can conjure up as many as she sees sufficient, so this attack is relatively strong.

Lastly, Perona is able to turn herself into a hollow, separating her soul from her body. In this form, her appearance is exactly similar to her physical body, but she can fly, change sizes and phase right through solid objects in it. There's a somewhat invulnerability that comes with this form, because all attacks simply phase right through her, and if her opponent is unable to find her physical body, there is no way to injure her. Furthermore, she can still conjure up Mini and Toku Hollows in this form, retaining offensive capability.

→ STRENGTHS: (miscellaneous) As someone who is highly reliant on her fruit ability, Perona ... does not have many outside it. If anything, she seems to have basic navigation skills, having single-handedly brought Zoro from Kuraigana Island to Saboady Archipelago. She also has highly limited skills in first-aid, as she was the one who would tend to Zoro's wounds during his training with Mihawk.

→ WEAKNESSES: (physical) Perona has the strength and durability of an average teenage girl. Having relied on her fruit ability so much, she's neglected to train her real body. As such, if her devil fruit were to be rendered useless, she loses most of her fighting capability.

→ WEAKNESSES: (mental) Perona is cowardly. Self-preservation is, first and foremost, her top priority. She disdains receiving injuries, and would prefer to hide her physical body to avoid it if possible. If highly intimidated, she has been seen immediately denying her allegiances, and deserting the battlefield.

[Limited Powers]: Perona will retain the ability to float around in her ghost form, but the distance she can keep her body and soul separated will be limited. She will be able to fly around in a 1 kilometer radius around her physical body, but not travel across the seas to another ship. She will also retain the ability to create hollows, but her Negative Hollow ability will be limited to one use per day.
